From Russ' Heart

From Russ’s Heart—Truth Not Theory On The Resurrection

You know there’s a whole lots of false theories of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Theories that sort of died off in the early church but somehow are still in our world today. For example; The “Thief theory”. They stole the body of Jesus, a likely way to do away with the truth “ Take the money and run”.  The “Hallucination theory”. That everybody who thought they saw Jesus after His death hallucinated. There is a problem with that theory. How could 500 people up in Galilee have the same hallucination at the same time? Turns God into a mystifier. It makes liars out of the first and only Apostles. The “Replacement theory” claims they replaced Jesus with someone else. If it was someone else how did the disciples recognize Him in the breaking of bread? Another bizarre theory is the “No-burial theory” that says Christ was never put in the tomb, He was thrown in a pit with a lot of other criminals. The Séance theory"  a medium conjured upon the spirit of the dead Jesus by occult power and that in a demonic way this occultic seance took place in which the dead Jesus made an appearance. The "Mistaken identity theory" This one says that somebody impersonated Jesus. How ridiculous can these theories be? All to disprove the resurrection! When I was lost I could argue these points and sound pretty intelligent. However what I couldn't explain was; what happened to His body? Was it stolen? Was He real? Was He switched out? Thrown in a garbage pile? Conjured up from the dead? Yes, if you don’t believe the scriptures. However, Praise God for the proof in Jesus bodily resurrection! A grave that once held Jesus is now empty. In 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 the Apostle Paul speaks of our eternal emphatic hope,  that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  and that he was buried; and that he has been raised on the third day according to the scriptures; If there is no resurrection humanity has no hope. During this time let’s look back to the cross and thank God for the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. Be blessed during the Easter holy days and share the message of the resurrection of God’s Son according to the scriptures. A message on His bodily resurrection of truth and hope, not theory!
